James Rivers : Development
James received his formal training in the Clemson University computer science
program. He has spent the last six years programming Web applications with database
back-ends. The last four years were specifically focused on developing customer-facing
applications for a telecommunications company in Greenville. While attending
Clemson University, James served as the Webmaster for Clemson University's College
of Engineering and Science. He has taken the lead development role in many commercial
projects, such as developing a content management, catalog and e-commerce, Internet
account-provisioning system, and network provisioning systems as well as a Web-based
email client. He is proficient in several languages, including PHP, PERL and
ASP and his database background includes MySQL and Oracle.
Charles Carter : Sales
Charles is an honor graduate in Computer Technology from York Technical College
in Rock Hill, SC. He moved to Greenville following a project with a major software
manufacture and developed a love for the Upstate. After providing software and
hardware solutions for many of the local businesses, he decided to create a solution
for the small to medium-sized business and use this network. Charles has a reputation
for creating cutting-edge solutions on the working side of technology. Charles'
experience in software sales includes leading the sales effort for PurchaseLink
Systems, a software product for the purchasing industry.
Ryan Beck : Marketing
Ryan started programming while still in grade school, winning several state-level
awards for his programming and graphic design by the time he had graduated high
school, and he hasn’t lost his taste for it yet. Ryan served in the Army’s military
intelligence core as an Afghan linguist for four years before starting college.
He graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in computer operations
management and moved to Chicago to work for a Web development company as a designer
and programmer where he was able to work with clients such as Dennis Rodman and
Gold’s Gym. He returned to the Upstate in 2000 during which time he has worked
as a Web developer and graphic designer for clients like NuVox Communications,
the Greenville Hospital System, and the American Cancer Society.
Michael Beck : Customer Relations
Michael has spent the last five years working in the field of Web design and
online application development. He started his career as a freelance Web designer
in the Asheville, NC area. Most recently he has worked as a systems administrator
and programmer for companies based in Greenville, SC. He is proficient with all
Windows operating systems as well as Macintosh and Linux platforms, which enables
him to provide excellent customer support for all of Mediasation’s clients. Michael
is also proficient in PHP, HTML, JavaScript, Perl and MySQL, bringing his programming
expertise to bear in assisting in all areas of the production process. Michael
has taken courses in advanced mathematics, science and technology at the University
of North Carolina at Asheville and continuously strives to keep up with new technology
trends. His friendly demeanor and organizational skills as well as his overall
understanding of the entire production process make him an invaluable asset to
the Mediasation team.
