The CMS

The Mediasation Content Management System (CMS) grew out of a need to allow the owners of the website message to be able to edit the content – the text, images, forms, and data.  During the first years of the web, websites were managed largely by IT departments and mysterious employees called "webmasters."  And anytime that another member of the business needed an update to the website, even something simple like a press release or a job posting, they had to go work that update into the already busy work queue of the "webmaster."  This is inefficient and unnecessary.

So in 2002, we developed the Mediasation CMS to meet the needs of the mostly non-technical business people out there. The ones that want a website, but do not need or want the expense of an IT staff on-hand to make updates. Now the message of the business is back where it belongs – in the hands of the subject matter experts.

There's been a lot of talk lately extolling the benefits of open source technology. While we agree that it is a wonderful way for programmers to collaborate world-wide to create a new piece of technology, we do not believe that a business should rely on an open source application to run something as critical as their website.
